What You'll Need

The container: A basket, box, tray, or even a fabric tote. Size depends on how many items you're including — a medium basket (12"×8") fits 5-8 items perfectly.

Filler material: Shredded paper (kraft or colored), tissue paper, or dried flowers. This creates a base and keeps items secure.

Wrapping: Cellophane wrap or fabric wrap, ribbon, a gift tag, and optional dried flower sprig.

Step-by-Step Assembly

Step 1: Choose a Theme

Every great hamper has a theme: "Coffee Lover," "Spa Day," "Foodie Treats," or "New Home." A theme guides your item selection and makes the hamper feel curated rather than random.

Step 2: Select Your Items

Mix textures and sizes: something tall (bottle/candle), something flat (book/chocolate bar), something small (lip balm/tea bag), and something edible. Variety keeps it interesting.

Fill the bottom third of your container with scrunched filler paper. Create a slight slope — taller items go at the back, shorter ones in front.

Step 5: Secure and Wrap
